The latest soap news Eastenders introduce the Taylors! Emma to leave the Dales?
Get ready for the Taylors to descend…
Here is your first look at the raucous clan set to shake up Albert Square! The locals will be in for a rude awakening when single mum Karen Taylor and her children burst on to the scene, making quite an entrance as they move in next door to Dot…
“The Taylors are noisy, brash and not to be messed with,” insists Eastenders boss Sean O’connor. “The summer is going to be explosive as they settle in – and the Square will never quite be the same again.”
So what’s the story with this lot? And who’s who?
Inside Soap has the lowdown on all the characters.
KAREN TAYLOR
On the surface, the nononsense matriarch is fiercely protective of her brood and won’t hear a bad word said about any of them. Deep down, however, she is a kindhearted and loyal woman.
“Karen is a 20-a-day lioness, bringing up her kids with no support, no money and a very loud mouth,” explains Sean. “But though they lack cash, the Taylors have love and warmth in spades.”
Karen is played by actress Lorraine
Stanley, who actually appeared in Eastenders last year as Thelma Bragg – the mother of
Jay’s underage girlfriend, Star.
KEANU TAYLOR
Benidorm actor Danny Walters, who is best known for playing troublemaker Tiger Dyke in the ITV sitcom, takes on the role of Karen’s eldest son, Keanu. He’s a charming, happy-go-lucky lad who sees himself as the man of the family.
“Keanu is very grateful to live at No 23 Albert Square,” shares Danny. “He’ll try his best not to disturb the peace in his new neighbourhood!”
BERNADETTE TAYLOR
Meanwhile, Keanu’s sister Bernadette has little interest in anything but sitting around the house and dreaming of becoming famous!
“I’m so excited to go on a journey with Bernadette,” enthuses newcomer Clair Norris. “I never in a million years thought my first TV role would be in
Eastenders. It’s surreal!”
RILEY & CHATHAM TAYLOR
Karen has her hands full with her two younger sons, who both have learning difficulties. But pretending to be each other’s family isn’t going to be very difficult for stars Tom and Alfie Jacobs – who just so happen to be brothers in real life, too!
ANYONE ELSE?
Yes, if you count family pets Bronson the dog and Rooney the bearded dragon! There’s also Chantelle, the eldest daughter who lives nearby with her boyfriend and two children. And as with any soap family, the Taylors bring a secret to Walford with them. But who has a skeleton in their closet, and when is it set to come tumbling out?
