Gina admits to being Sally’s troll
SHE REVEALS HERSELF TO BE SALLY’S TROLL…
The renewed bond between sisters Sally and Gina unravels this week, after guiltridden Gina admits that she was the cruel troll who made Sally’s life a living hell.
Gina has been overwhelmed by her sister’s kindness since Sally welcomed her and stepdaughter Leah into her home and even sorted her out a job at the factory. But following weeks of struggling to look Sal in the eye after all the grief she caused, things get too much for Gina – and she’s forced to confess…
“Gina does love Sally, and she’s devastated to have done this to her,” sighs Connie Hyde, who plays Gina. “She’s also quite frightened by it, because it shows a lack of control when she thought she was on top of her bipolar medication. Gina isn’t vindictive, so the last thing she’d want is to hurt her sister.”
Of course, Sally is horrified by the revelation, and once news gets back to Tim, he’s also livid and wants answers. When he returns home, Gina is nowhere to be seen – but after Tim stumbles upon some game-changing information, the Websters are determined to find her. When Gina is eventually located on the site of a demolished house, Sally
makes a heartfelt plea, begging her to return to Weatherfield. Can the sisters’ relationship be salvaged?
“Gina has a complicated relationship with Sally,” shares Connie. “They’re from a difficult background and used to be quite similar – but Sally left that family environment, and Gina is angry that Sally abandoned her. However, it doesn’t help that Gina is insecure about how her own life is going. Even though Sally would never think ill of her, Gina was always too embarrassed to contact her.
“There is definitely love on both sides, but they do fight,” continues the actress. “Sally and Gina are on different social levels, and Gina brings out the past Sally has tried to forget. I think she’s quite childlike and naive, and tries to make Sally laugh and be happy, while Sally is more protective of Gina.”
Will the sisters be able to put this mess behind them?
