Mick learns the horrible truth

HE FINDS OUT EVERYTHING…

- …and has to grin and bear it as Fi takes him through the new contract Kate White

Horrified Mick loses it this week – when he finds out that the Carters no longer have control of the Vic!

The facts about Shirley’s desperate actions come out when Mick starts talking to Fi in the bar, unaware that she’s his new boss. And Whitney can only look on in despair as the terrible truth about their new circumstances is revealed in the most excruciating fashion.

Realising that Shirley forged his signature in order to do the deal, Mick lashes out at his mum. But with the lease contract in place, is there anything that he can do to win back his beloved pub?

“This is Mick’s worst nightmare!” says our Walford source. “The Queen Vic means everything to him – it’s his pride and joy, the place that his family calls home. To have that just snatched away is devastating. Mick has no idea that Shirley actually told Linda what she was going to do.”

Understandably, it is Mick’s mother who bears the brunt of his fury – but her reasons for making the deal were sound. After the ceiling collapsed and trapped Lady Di, Shirley was forced to make a decision over how they were going to pay for the treatment that would save their dog’s life. Of course, it was shady Max who took advantage of their vulnerability by suggesting the dodgy deal in the first place.

So, after discovering

Max’s part in all of this, mad Mick is on the warpath.

“It’s becoming

clear that ruining the Carters and getting them out of the Vic is all part of Max’s wicked master plan,” our insider tells us. “Mick could choose to punch Max’s lights out, but what good would that do? This new contract is something that the Carter clan is going to have to live with – whether Mick likes it or not.”

As tempers flare at the pub, it’s Whitney who tries to play peacemaker as she makes every effort to be there for Mick while his whole world falls apart. In Linda’s absence, she and Johnny are deeply worried about the landlord and his ability to cope with the stress of what’s going on.

However, when Whit offers Mick a shoulder to cry on, she’s the next in line to feel his wrath.

Will he be able to regain control of his emotions before it’s too late?
