Comedian Alex Horne picks his dream viewing…
Line Of Duty is fantastic.
My wife and I had arguments every time we watched it about whether Roz Huntley was innocent or not. I had to go away for a few weeks after the episode with Arnott’s fall, and I didn’t know if he was dead or not. He looked pretty dead! Now the kids are a bit older, we’ve started watching programmes as a family. We watched Planet Earth II, which was brilliant, and Little
Big Shots on ITV with Dawn French. Dawn French is amazing – I know she’s a brilliant comedian, but she’s also a great presenter with kids. I like to keep an eye on comedy, but I don’t relax as much when watching it because I’m just wondering about the process a lot.
But I think David Mitchell and Lee Mack are incredibly funny people and Would
I Lie To You? is a perfect programme. I watch anything my friends are in.
Anything with Tim Key, or anything Tom Basden writes like Plebs, and Mum by Stefan Golaszewski. Whenever I watch something with a friend in, I’m half hoping to enjoy it and half thinking, “I hope that this is awful”. We tend to wind down with the most stressful programmes, like Broadchurch. But I do like watching the golf – that’s very relaxing. I spent a whole weekend watching the Masters. I literally fall asleep to it.
