SHEREE MURPHY IS BACK WITH THE CONTEST FOR HOME COOKS…
You may know her best as Emmerdale’s Tricia Dingle or Hollyoaks’ Eva Strong (or even Neighbours’ Dakota Davies) – but last year Sheree Murphy added a new string to her bow as the host of Yes Chef, where home cooks are paired with professional chefs. And she’s absolutely thrilled to be back this week with a new series…
“Last time it was the unknown,” Sheree tells Inside TV. “We didn’t know how it was going to pan out because no one had seen it before! But this time it was really exciting, when we got on set the home cooks were like, ‘Ooh, I watched the last series and I can’t believe I’m here’. That was nice that they were fans, it felt like a proper show!” As a former semi-finalist on Celebrity
Masterchef, Sheree knows a thing or two about the pressures of cooking on TV, and she informs us that for the second series she was able to be a little more hands-on.
“Last series I wasn’t really allowed to step in, but this time they let me!” she chuckles. “As long as it’s all shared out and everyone gets a little bit of love – you can’t be seen to favour certain people, and we wouldn’t because it’s a competition. But things do go wrong, so if I see something burning
I can step in and go, ‘Oh, just take that off the hob’. And I help the chefs when they’re making their own dishes – I do a bit of stirring or I put the blender on for them!”
