Bethany’s terror continues…

DESPERATE SARAH FACES LOSING HER DAUGHTER…

- Kate White

Bethany is blinded by what she thinks is love – she just won’t listen”

Horrified Sarah faces fresh hell this week, when she discovers Bethany trying to grab her passport and leave the country with evil Nathan.

Following shocking recent events, Sarah now knows the full extent of how much Bethany has been manipulated by her predatory boyfriend. She’s hoping that Bethany is safe back with her family, but Sarah hasn’t reckoned on the control Nathan has over brainwashed Bethany. That is until she finds her daughter preparing to make a run for it…

“Bethany’s actions throw Sarah completely,” admits Tina O’brien, who plays the struggling mum. “There is a moment earlier in the story where it looks as if Bethany has made a breakthrough – and Sarah is so relieved. She’s got no idea where this sudden change comes from.”

At the start of the week, Sarah and Gary are frantic after what they’ve discovered about Nathan, and they try to make Bethany understand that his behaviour isn’t that of someone who loves her. But the girl is adamant that Nathan remains her soulmate.

“Bethany is so blinded by what she thinks is love,” sighs Tina. “She won’t listen to anyone and keeps defending Nathan’s actions. It’s frustrating and terrifying for Sarah to see her daughter like this.”

Unbeknown to her family, Bethany sneaks back to Nathan’s flat where he, Mel and Neil work on a plan to hoodwink Sarah. Returning home, Bethany lies that she and Nathan have split up, and then Neil – in his police uniform – arrives to continue the dark deception. Seeing Bethany confide in a policeman is a huge relief to Sarah, who has no idea that Neil is an integral part of this wicked operation.

“Sarah is so pleased that Bethany looks like she is finally opening up to someone,” says Tina. “She feels that she hasn’t protected Bethany – and as a

mum, that is her job. I do think Sarah has a lot of guilt to contend with.”

Sadly, the situation is even worse than Sarah could imagine. Following the dramatic confrontation with her mum over her passport, Bethany begins to self-harm – just as Audrey notices a cigarette burn already inflicted on the lass by her fiancé.

“Sarah finds Bethany trying to burn her other arm with a cigarette!” reveals Tina. “It confirms in Sarah’s mind just how much Nathan has Bethany caught in his web. Now, she’s at a loss with what to do about it. She really feels she’s failed as a mother…”
