Hi, Jackson! How did you react when you found out Brody would get mixed up in drugs?
I loved it! I think it’s a pressing issue that needs to be understood. Not all people who become addicts were born that way – it can happen to any one of us. People can make bad decisions and end up paying for them for the rest of their lives.
Why has Brody become so reliant on drugs?
In Brody’s mind they give him a sense of relief, confidence and clarity, especially when it comes to coping with his fast-paced job as a chef. But the more he uses, the more he relies on them
– it’s a vicious cycle.
We’re surprised he’d get involved with drugs, considering his family’s history with them…
I guess because the Morgans have been out of witness protection for a while, his perception of drug use has become skewed. It’s not holding the weight it used to, and he mistakenly sees it as the outlet he was looking for.
This is having a big effect on his relationship with his family…
Yeah, and that’s a side to this story I think is important to see. Drugs not only destroy the addict’s life, but also the lives of the people around them. The guilt Brody feels about how he’s treating his family is unbearable.
What advice would you give to Brody if you were his pal?
Stop now and salvage what you can. Serious damage has been done, but it’s not too late to make things right.
