Heartbroken April demands answers from Marlon this week, as she accuses her dad of cheating on Carly with his ex-wife, Laurel!
The drama unfolds after Lydia lets slip that Marlon and Laurel might have shared a kiss the previous evening. Vanessa and April overhear the gossip, leading April to assume Carly left the village as her dad was unfaithful. But is that what happened – and will April buy Marlon’s explanation?
“When April throws a strop, everyone knows about it!” grins our Dales insider. “She loves Carly to bits, and thought she was going to be her new mum. So when April falls under the impression that Marlon has done the dirty with Laurel, she can’t believe he’d be so cruel as to break up their family. She’s devastated.”
It’s not that straightforward, of course, and Marlon has a job relaying his side of the story. The truth is, drunken Marlon went to see Laurel as his relationship with Carly was falling apart. Sure, the pair shared a charged moment when he poured his heart out to his ex – though nothing actually happened.
That’s what Marlon attempts to tell little April as he and his daughter hold crisis talks at Mulberry Cottage. But how will he explain the real reason behind Carly leaving the village?
“It’s difficult for Marlon because the last thing he wants is for April to feel let down again,” insists our spy. “The situation between himself, Carly and her ex,
Matt, is very complicated, and that’s a lot for a little girl to understand.”
