Couch POTATO
Actress Amanda Barrie picks her dream viewing…
I really love documentaries, particularly historical ones. And I watch a lot of series – I thought Decline
And Fall was divine. It took me back to some of the shows I did way back when – it’s such a wondrously sophisticated piece.
I’m a TV fanatic
– I’m a news addict for a start, so it would be a punishment if I didn’t see the news. And I’m told off constantly because I watch The Jeremy
Kyle Show. But I think all politicians should watch Jeremy Kyle, they need to be more in touch!
My wife is a crime writer,
so we watch all of those shows. We watched No
Offence and Line Of Duty – that was good, wasn’t it? I even liked Broadchurch more this time around. I thought the third series was much better. but I’m a bit of a snob – I’ll only watch the cream of the sport! I was very devoted to watching
Channel 4 Racing. And I was on television with Eamonn Holmes recently and I said to him, “You do realise I’m a Manchester City supporter making a warm gesture to a United supporter?”. There was a United Nations moment there, like a peace treaty being signed!
I find that I have certain types of
day when I watch certain things
– I’ll watch silly things during the day, if
I’m here. I will watch a Rosemary And Thyme in the afternoon, but I couldn’t watch it at night. And I definitely couldn’t watch Jeremy Kyle at night!
