Inside Soap has been waiting for an excuse to go out and buy a hat, and it looks as if our chance has arrived!
These sneaky snaps of the Corrie gang filming on location suggest that Mary and Norris will tie the knot. There has been no indication on screen that the comedy double act are anything more than just good friends – but are they finally set to realise they’re made for one another?
“Remember the early days of Mary and Norris, when she was ever so slightly obsessed with him?” recalls our cobbles insider. “Perhaps after all this time, Mary is finally going to get her man. It’ll be the Street wedding of the decade!”
The truth is that Mary and Norris have always been soulmates, though never in a romantic way. However, Mary has admitted that she’s hugely grateful to Norris for helping her come to terms with her painful past – and coupled with the terrible anguish he felt when she nearly moved to South Africa, it’s slowly become clear that the pair can’t live without each other. And what better way to be forever in each other’s lives than to make it official and become husband and wife?
“As amazing as that would be, this is Mary and Norris we’re talking about,” chuckles our spy. “You wouldn’t put it past them to be involved in some madcap scheme that would require them to get hitched. It’s probably the more likely scenario – but we can dream!”
