Will Megan discover Frank’s lies?

Megan has been on such a high lately, especially as Frank made a huge effort to convince her to give him a chance. The pair have developed a deep bond since getting together, and she sees a future with Frank. If only there wasn’t that small issue of him bedding her arch-rival Charity – as Gaynor Faye, who plays the cheated party, explains…
“Megan is so smitten with Frank, and he chased her for so long that I think she’d be shocked to find out he’d cheated on her,” shares the star. “Megan doesn’t have flings – she has Eliza, and for her to have introduced somebody into her daughter’s life is a big deal. She wouldn’t be in this relationship if she didn’t believe they had a future, and she does see one with Frank.”
Megan had her eyes wide open when she agreed to get serious with Frank. But since he’s been back in his daughters’ lives, the former con man has tried to prove that he’s a reformed character. Megan is proud to see that evolution, though she has no idea that conniving Charity managed to pull him back into his old ways. If Megan finds out what happened, she’ll go nuclear – something that Gaynor tells us she’s very much looking forward to.
“Oh, the slanging scenes with Emma Aktins [Charity] are such good fun – we absolutely have it!” laughs the actress. “We had it a few years ago with the whole Declan and Robbie thing, so it’s great to be back doing it again.
Some of the lines we get are just so fantastic. I’ll often read the script and think, ‘How do I go one better?’ – and then I’ll turn the page and I have a classic line as well. The pair of them give as good as they get!
“Frank cheating with Charity is the worst possible scenario for Megan,” adds Gaynor. “Charity is her nemesis – they’re so alike, they’re like butting rams. Actually, they’re like a passionate couple! In a different world, Charity and Megan might be good friends, but they’d be the kind of mates that are close and then fall out spectacularly because they want the same thing.”
Interestingly enough, this week sees Megan and Leyla join forces with Charity and Debbie on their classic carhire venture. It’s incredible to think that either Charity or Megan would want to knit their lives together in such a way – but Gaynor tells us they are both canny operators when it comes to cash.
“Well I think Leyla pushes it, though Megan can also see a good business plan and a good business opportunity – so she’s not going to let somebody like Charity get in the way of that,” says the star. “But also Debbie has a lot to do with it. Debbie’s child is ill, and Megan can see that she really wants to make a go of this business. Megan does have morals – even though they don’t come out very often – so I think it’s largely to do with Debbie and Sarah.”
Megan might be feeling charitable now, but she won’t if the truth about Frank and Charity comes out. Given that Charity is planning to expose her former fling just to stir up trouble, it’s likely that the terrible truth will soon be revealed to all. So what sort of revenge does Gaynor expect Megan to take?
“Megan’s fury would probably be a slow burn, to be honest,” warns the actress. “I think that initially she’d erupt, but she’s been there before twice with Jai. She’s not an innocent person herself, and she is quite good at getting people back. She got revenge on Declan quite a few times, and she’s very bright. So I reckon she would very much think about it and probably get her revenge slowly – but she would get it!” Kate White
