Cindy goes up against Simone
SHE’S DETERMINED TO BE THE NEXT COUNCILLOR OF HOLLYOAKS…
Sneaky Cindy stoops to a new low in a bid to win the council election this week – by faking a robbery at the Emporium! The mum-ofthree is determined to win the much-coveted seat on the local council, thus beating her arch-nemesis Simone in the process. And she’s willing to fight dirty to get what she wants…
“After Simone’s flat was burgled, the press got involved – so Cindy thinks that if the same thing happens to her, she’ll get the publicity too!” chuckles Stephanie Waring, who plays power-hungry Cindy. “She’s just trying to think of any tactic she can to win favour with the public and raise her profile. And in typical Cindy fashion, she’s certain she’ll get away with it!”
While Cindy may not have the political knowledge that her rival Simone does, she certainly makes up for it in confidence. So as she and Simone prepare to do battle in the village walkathon, cocky Cindy is convinced that she’ll manage to trounce her opposition once again and be crowned the victor.
“I personally don’t think Cindy knows enough about politics and what it takes to be a councillor,” admits Steph. “She just thinks she can wing it! At first she was only doing it because Simone was looking down her nose at her – but now Cindy genuinely believes that she could be the next councillor of Hollyoaks! She’s on a power trip at the moment.”
The rivalry between the two women reaches fever pitch as the week draws to a close and the locals begin to cast their votes. However, as Cindy and Simone square up for the final debate of their campaigns, things very quickly go awry.
“It does end up getting a bit personal, and Cindy goes for the jugular,” reveals Steph. “It’s kind of a tit-for-tat situation, though, because Simone does it too – it’s only when the line is crossed that they realise how far they’ve gone…”
By the end of the week, one of the women will be named as the new local councillor for Hollyoaks. So will sly Cindy’s wicked tricks win her the seat? Or will she be forced to lick her wounds as Simone is crowned the overall winner?
