WHAT DOES STALKER ARMSTRONG HAVE IN STORE FOR HER?
Creepy copper Gavin Armstrong proves that he’s willing to do anything in his power to get closer to Cindy this week – including framing Leela for robbery!
Since Leela found out that the policeman was the one terrorising her and told him to back off, he’s turned his attention to Cindy instead. And now he has a new lady in his sights, Armstrong’s not going to let Leela ruin things for him…
“Obviously Leela has rumbled him, and he knows that’s a lost cause,” chuckles Andrew Hayden-smith, who plays the dodgy detective. “So now he’s turning his attention to Cindy. He’s got a thing for strong, blonde women and mothers in particular – which he’s hinted has something to do with his relationship with his own mum. But nobody apart from Leela has seen his nasty side yet.”
While Leela is clued up on the detective’s true nature, Cindy remains unaware. She basks in the handsome fella’s attention, much to her hubby Dirk’s irritation. But Armstrong is not about to let a wedding ring get in the way! “He’s cunning and very dangerous,” sighs Andrew. “We’ve already seen him push Zack down the stairs because he was getting in the way of things with Leela. I think he’s capable of some nasty stuff, and Dirk should be worried.”
With Armstrong having charmed his way into the Savage house as their new lodger, Dirk receives a call telling him that his daughter Liberty has been involved in

a car accident, so he rushes off to LA to be with her. Could this be another one of Armstrong’s plots? Meanwhile, Leela is horrified to see Cindy and the sinister sergeant together, and applies for a job as Cindy’s cleaner. What’s she planning?
“Armstrong is pretty annoyed when he sees Leela in the house, because obviously she knows his big secret,” explains Andrew. “So he’s freaked out and needs to get her out of the way! Leela wants to warn Cindy what he’s up to, but she also knows that if she does that,
Armstrong will tell everyone the truth about who
Daniel’s dad is.”
However, after the cop spots Leela rifling through his stuff via his spycam, he’s forced to take drastic action – and plants Cindy’s engagement ring on her! But will his plot to get her sacked work? “Armstrong has a book filled with photos of all the women he’s stalked, which is all very creepy,” shudders Andrew.
“It’s silly of him to have left such a thing lying around, but Leela comes close to finding it. That’s why he plants the ring – he thinks it’s a good way to get Leela out of the picture.”
It’s clear that the women of Hollyoaks village won’t be safe with Armstrong lurking about the place – and Andrew has a few words of advice for his twisted alter ego.
“I keep getting tweets from the viewers asking why he can’t just go about things in the normal way!” the actor tells us with a laugh. “Maybe he could have had a proper relationship with Leela if only he’d gone down the usual route of asking her out, instead of stalking her!”
