Worried Karen tries to get to the bottom of Bernadette’s pregnancy secret this week – fearing that the dad’s identity could rock their family.
Now she’s worked out that her daughter’s odd behaviour is because she’s expecting a baby, Karen is determined to find out why Bernadette is so cagey about the father. She’s worried that Bernadette kept the pregnancy under wraps to protect the lad in question, and now she’s convinced that there’s more to the story than her vulnerable teenager will admit…
“Karen doesn’t give a stuff about what people think of her or her kids – she expects all of them to be the talk of the Square,” says our Walford insider. “But behind her bluster and attitude, she’s a mum who has a daughter in trouble, and it’s breaking her heart. She’s scared of what the future will look like for Bernadette and the baby, especially as they don’t have much money.
But she’s most concerned about the toerag who got Bernadette pregnant, and why it’s a big mystery.”

new area, as well as cope with being pregnant – and life is only going to get harder. The residents of Albert Square are already less than impressed with the Taylor family and their behaviour, so if she felt it was a struggle to fit in before, it’s going to be 10 times worse now…
“It’s fair to say the Taylors are loathed by most of Walford,” sniffs our mole. “But there are some very kind people in the Square who’ll realise how scary the world is for Bernadette right now. Nevertheless, she’s going to encounter some hostility – and given that her brother Keegan has managed to make a stack of enemies, Bernadette could find herself paying for her brother’s sins.”
