Couch POTATO
Norfolk’s Desmond Maccarthy picks his dream viewing…
My favourite show that I’ve watched recently is Homeland. I like the tension and excitement, and it seems to be almost predicting real life. I can’t get over how close it is to the unfolding political dramas in Washington.
The comedy I’ve most enjoyed
lately is Borat. I am amazed how he got away with it, and it appeals to me when people make fun of others and sail close to the wind. It’s unbelievable that some of the prominent interviewees didn’t realise they were being set up, and it shows that politicians particularly should not be too self-important.
The Man From UNCLE was my favourite show when I was growing up.
I collected the bubblegum cards, I tried using the
invisible ink, and I really liked the names Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin!
The best show to unwind in front of is a travel documentary with
Joanna Lumley. She is so nice with the people that she meets, and she is genuinely both interested and interesting. I wish I was there too!
If I could be in any other programme
it would be Springwatch. I would replace Chris Packham in order for me to share some of my views on how we could enhance wildlife and habitat in rural and urban surroundings, making a difference before it’s too late.
