Liz under pressure in her new job

A SNOOTY COLLEAGUE SENDS HER BLOOD PRESSURE SKY HIGH…

- Kate White

Prepare for fireworks between Liz and manager Moira this week – as the women fight it out to be the queen of the medical centre reception!

Having sold the Rovers to Peter and Toyah, Liz has been forced to find another job, and the position at the surgery seemed the perfect solution. But while the job and location are spot on, Liz has a major problem on her hands thanks to bitchy Moira, who’s taken against her. How long can they work alongside each other before it all kicks off?

“At the Rovers, Liz was the star of the show,” muses our Weatherfield spy. “She’s used to being in charge, doing things her way and commanding respect. That’s all changed now, and it’s tough for Liz to cope with. The last thing she needs is to work with someone who hates her from the off.”

Liz’s best mate Eileen calls in to visit her during her shift, and is surprised to find Liz in low spirits. But it doesn’t take long for Eileen to work out why her pal is blue after she’s introduced to Moira. Matters get worse when two patients warm to glamorous Liz and have a fight over who gets to take her on a date. That only serves to enrage Moira further – especially after it transpires the fellas used to fight over her!

The next day, there’s another altercation as Liz has a gossip with Dr Gaddas and gets reprimanded by Moira for It turns out that advising a manager on how to manage you doesn’t go down well…”

slacking off. It’s enough to send Liz’s blood pressure through the roof, and she decides to try a different approach. Unfortunately, her plan doesn’t go well…

“Big mistake, Liz!” grins our insider. “It turns out that advising a manager on how to manage you doesn’t go down well. It’s fair to say that Liz has plenty of experience dealing with HR issues, as she’s been in charge of many wayward bar staff. But Moira doesn’t want Liz’s advice – she wants her to fall in line.

This is going to get ugly!”

Having been told to shut up and stick to answering the phone, Liz is ready to explode. Her son Steve feels terrible that she’s forced to cope with all of this because he messed up his marriage, forcing him to sell the Rovers – so, hoping to make amends, he begs Peter to consider giving Liz shifts behind the bar so she can feel at home again.

However, when Liz finds out her son has pulled some strings, will she even want to return to the Rovers as a lowly staff member?
