Aaron & David share a kiss!

AS AARON AND DAVID FINALLY KISS, MATT WILSON IS HOPING THAT HIS ALTER EGO’S NEW ROMANCE IS THE REAL DEAL…

For months, we’ve been rooting for mild-mannered doctor David and exotic dancer Aaron to admit their feelings and get together – and this week the wait is over as the pair finally share a smooch! Whether this will pave the way for a full-on relationship remains to be seen – but as we catch up with actor Matt Wilson (Aaron) during his trip to the UK, he tells us he wants a happy ever after… Aaron and David have had this ‘will-they-won’t-they?’ thing going on for quite a while now… I know, how annoying is that? We read our scripts and our mindset is just like the viewers’ – we want them to hurry up and get together. But the writers are having some fun and building it up. Do you worry that once they do get together, it will be less exciting? No. I think David and Aaron would be perfect together, because there’s so much you could do with those two. David is quite the introvert, so he wouldn’t like Aaron dancing and hanging out in nightclubs. Whereas Aaron wouldn’t want to just sit at home with

David every night. Can they last the distance, though?

Oh yeah, I want to see them go the whole hog! I want them to get married and own their own house on Ramsay Street, and maybe even have a baby. Neighbours has never had a gay wedding before, so you guys would be the first… I know, and wouldn’t that be great? Especially as gay marriage isn’t actually legal in Australia. I think that it would be sending out a huge message, and that would be really powerful. It’s just fiction, so it doesn’t matter that it’s not legal – the country would love it. If Aaron married David, Paul would be his father-in-law! How would you feel about that? Would you want Paul as your father-inlaw? He can be quite nice sometimes. But he’s the ultimate villain, isn’t he? I think whenever there’s a storyline that the writers are trying to spice up, they just throw Paul Robinson into it and watch what happens. It’s great to see Aaron going into business with Mishti. Are you enjoying his change of career? This is a pivotal moment for Aaron – as far as I’m aware, there’s no more dancing. Which is great for me, because I can’t dance! But we have a new set now, and the personal trainer thing is a good fit for me. I think the writers have actually based Aaron on my flatmate Michael – he owns a gym too, and is very similar to Aaron. Inside Soap loves the Brennan brothers! Are you guys close off screen as well? Yeah, it doesn’t even feel like going to work – it’s such good fun hanging out with those guys. But the crew get upset with us because we muck around a lot! The Brennans’ mother, Fay, arrives this week. But don’t the boys have a sister, too? They do, and I’d love to meet her. We don’t even know if she’s older or younger than them – they talk about her all the time, but they never mention her age, her name, or what she does! There was a fan theory that Beth Brennan (played by Natalie Imbruglia) was their sister… Imagine that! I don’t know why they brought in another Brennan family when they already had one. I guess there is the chance she could be their sister… we could start a rumour here!
