Eastenders Steven tries to keep up his deceit
AS STEVEN FEELS TRAPPED INTO CONFESSING, CAN HE GO THROUGH WITH IT?
Steven finds it ever more difficult to keep up his twisted story this week, as Lauren insists they go to the hospital to find out the latest news on his condition. And after Max puts pressure on him to tell all, will Steven really confess he’s been lying about having a terminal brain tumour?
Obsessed Steven has been playing his death card to the max in recent weeks in order to keep Lauren tied to him, suggesting he apply for parental responsibility of little Louie and making a very public marriage proposal. Poor
Lauren now feels obliged to stand by her man, even though she’s already admitted privately that she doesn’t love him. Reluctantly throwing herself back into the relationship, she insists they attend a hospital appointment together – and Steven is aware he’s in trouble and that his terrible lies could be exposed…

Square spy. “He has to think of a way out – fast! In desperation, he calls Abi for help. He knows that she’s in love with him, and he’s sure that Abi will assist him. He’s happy to use her obsession to his advantage.”
Abi is at home looking after Louie – and sure enough, she contacts Lauren and calls her back to the house. But Steven is not as clever as he thinks he is! While Lauren may fall for that trick, he’s in for a shock when Max then shows up in the hospital waiting room.
“Naturally Max has worked out what Steven is up to – but for his own reasons he’s been keeping it to himself,” shares our informant. “Viewers have been intrigued as to why Max would conspire to keep this cruel deception from his own daughter… but Max being Max, we’ve given up trying to work out his motives! Despite keeping shtum for weeks, it seems he’s decided enough is enough as he takes a hard line with Steven: it’s time to tell Lauren the truth.
“Steven has painted himself into a corner – there’s no way out of this for him. He either begs Lauren for forgiveness, or keeps up his deception.
But the longer he lies, the less chance he has of keeping his relationship with Lauren alive.”
As the pair head home, Steven prepares to reveal all to Lauren with Max by his side. But will he go through with it – and can she ever forgive him if he does?
