A Street treat!

CORRIE ’S NICOLA HAD A FAMILY DAY OUT…

-

Stepping on to the set of your favourite soap is a thrilling experience – so having bagged a role as the Street’s Nicola Rubinstein, actress Nicola Thorp decided to treat her loved ones to a visit to her new home on the cobbles.

“My gran watched the first episode of

Corrie, and has watched it ever since,” she tells Inside Soap. “From when I first said I wanted to be an actress, she’s asked when she’ll see me in Corrie. So it was an ambition for me to make my gran proud. Bringing her to the set was emotional.”

And grandma Edith even got to pour a pint in the Rovers…

“She’s pulling that face at the bar because she didn’t realise the pump was connected to anything, so a load of fake beer went all over the floor!” chuckles Nicola.

Gran and granddaughter were joined by Nicola’s mum and dad. And even her telly dad Connor Mcintyre – aka Phelan – turned up.

“My gran hates Phelan! We were shouting at the television when he smacked Andy on the head with a laptop earlier this year,” grins Nicola. “And then a few months later, I’m his daughter! It’s mad.

“My family have witnessed me struggle for 10 years doing bit parts here and there, and little theatre jobs all over the country,” continues the star. “So for them to come in and see me at work, in such a massive studio and on such a grand scale, was really great.”
