After weeks of painstaking preparation, counterfeit couple Mary and Norris are due to get hitched this week – but will their carefully laid plans be spoiled at the last minute?
The pair have gone all out to organise their sham wedding, in a dramatic bid to win a round-the-world trip. However, when Mary’s son Jude travels all the way from South Africa to share his mother’s supposedly special moment, all kinds of buried secrets are set to be unearthed. So is the big day destined for disaster?
“This should be one of the best times in a person’s life – but Mary and Norris’ nuptials are hardly your average ceremony!” chuckles our Street source. “It started out as a secret scheme to blag the holiday of a lifetime, but now it’s become as big and emotional as the real thing – and poor Mary is in for more drama than she bargained for once Jude and his wife Angie arrive.”
As the week begins, it’s Norris who is stressed to the nines, concerned that his plot to win the ultimate competition prize may have gone too far now that oblivious Jude is travelling from the other side of the world to be present. Mary is having none of it, however – she’s delighted that her boy is on his way back to Weatherfield. And the blissful look on her face says it all as Jude hands over his baby boy as soon as he and Angie set foot on the cobbles…
