Seb’s home life exposed to Anna

ANNA IS IN FOR A SHOCK WHEN SHE SEES WHERE FAYE’S BOYFRIEND LIVES…

- Allison Jones

“Seb’s past explains why he doesn’t trust people”

Faye’s plan to run away with her boyfriend Seb has big consequences this week, after Anna catches up with the couple and furiously hauls Seb back to his family home.

Despite Faye’s insistence that she and Seb need to get away from Weatherfield to make a go of their relationship, he’s not so sure. Wrongly assuming her other half’s reluctance is because he’s not keen on her, Faye isn’t happy. But it’s soon clear that the reasons behind Seb’s concerns are to do with issues a lot closer to home…

“Seb is in love with Faye, though he’s been keeping secrets from her,” admits Harry Visinoni, who plays Seb. “He has stuff going on that Faye doesn’t know about – and while it would be his dream to run away with her, he can’t because he has responsibilities. He’s been the man of the house when he shouldn’t have had to be – and he’s embarrassed about his home life.

“No one actually knows that, though, and Seb wanted to keep it that way. But Anna finds out…”

Seb is already on his way home – having abandoned mortified Faye and her supposedly romantic escape plot – when Anna catches up with him. As she drops him home, she’s horrified to see the terrible state his house is in – even more so when she realises that he has twin siblings also living in squalor. But is their big brother Seb really the only one looking out for them?

“Seb has been treading water, trying to keep on top of everything,” sighs Harry. “But it’s definitely a struggle. Anna is the very last person Seb wants to see when she finds him in a lay-by – he just needs to get home. He knows that Anna doesn’t like him, so he’s anxious about her seeing his house.”

While Anna is taken aback by Seb’s surroundings, it does start to throw some light on why the teen has been in and out of trouble so much. Because of that, Anna has never approved

of him dating her daughter – but on the basis of what she now knows, might she be prepared to cut him some slack and offer help?

“Seb’s past and his home life definitely explains why he’s so aggressive, and why he doesn’t trust people,” says Harry. “The situation there could be worse – and it has been worse, which is always hanging over him. He can’t really handle it, even though he tells himself he can.

“Anna is wary of Seb because of their history – and Seb is wary of Anna, too. But while he still has doubts, he wants to trust her. Either way, he doesn’t have any choice now!”
