AS ZOSIA AND OLLIE SAY “I DO”, HOLBY CITY’S CAMILLA ARFWEDSON SPILLS THE BEANS ON PLAYING A BRIDE…

- Sarah Ellis

“Will Zollie live happily ever after? I hope so!”

We can’t imagine

Holby ice queen Jac Naylor ever hosting a slumber party with her pals from Darwin – but when we catch up with actress Camilla Arfwedson, who plays Zosia, she tells us that is exactly what’s about to happen.

“I’m going over to see Rosie [Marcel, aka Jac] tonight,” the star tells us. “I’ll be staying at hers, which will be really fun. We’ll put her daughter to bed and then have a girlie night – we try to see each other as often as we can.”

This all seems a little bit surreal to

Inside Soap – but after getting a sneak preview of this week’s Holby City episode, nothing surprises us any more! We’ve been eagerly awaiting the Zollie wedding for ages, but in true Holby style, the big day doesn’t exactly go to plan…

What was it like for you being a pretend bride, Camilla?

It was very fun – I felt great! I was able to float around in a white dress that

I got to choose, and I had lots of attention. We had a really lovely team working on that episode, and we had these beautiful rooms to get ready in. It felt so girlie, and weirdly like we were all hens together, getting ready for an actual wedding!

Zosia’s pre-wedding routine isn’t quite like that though, is it?

No. She’s pretty distraught by her dad Guy’s behaviour in the previous episode, so she just thinks she’s going to crack on and marry Ollie without him there. But I think she’s marrying Ollie for the wrong reasons, and deep down she knows that. She cuts quite a lonely figure at the start of this episode.

What’s her reaction when Guy turns up?

She has mixed feelings. She’s relieved that he’s there, and kind of touched and moved. But she’s also annoyed because she knows he’s going to stir something up. And he does – he says to her, “You can still back out if you want to”. Yet again he’s not letting her make her own choices, so she eventually just snaps and tells him to leave – which has awful ramifications.

So can you tell us whether Zosia and Ollie end up getting hitched?

They do get married, yes. Will they live happily ever after, though? I hope so! But I don’t know if now is necessarily the right time for Zosia and Ollie, and if they’ll end up being together in the long term.

Don’t say that! Surely the fans have been rooting for a Zollie wedding?

They have, and everyone is terribly excited about the wedding, which is really sweet.

Zosia tells Guy to leave – which has awful ramifications!

There’s been so many things tripping them up along the way, and so many hurdles – Guy being the main one. So the fans are very excited that they’re finally getting together, and are hoping that they’ll sail off into the sunset.

What was it like filming out on location?

Well, it feels like a totally different show when you’re not in the hospital, because there’s nothing medical for you to do. But it was just so fun and such a romantic episode – I fell in love with the beautiful house we used. And I got to know people that I hadn’t really met before, like Lee Mead, who plays Lofty. I hadn’t had a proper conversation with him before, so it was weird that Lofty was not only at my wedding, but also sat next to me at the meal! Lee is lovely, though.

What was it like having John Michie (Guy) back on set for these episodes?

It’s been great – Guy is such a baddy, isn’t he? He’s a bit of a puppetmaster and Zosia dances to his tune without wanting to! It’s been nice for him to come in and shake things up for Zosia, though, and John and I have had lots of emotional scenes together. Our characters have a very unusual relationship – they’re more like siblings than father and daughter. They bicker and fight, but they respect and adore one another. It’s always challenging playing that stuff, but it’s lots of fun!
