Woody is made bar manager!

BUT WILL WOODY CLASH WITH MICK BEHIND THE BAR?

- Kate White

Woody can’t believe his ears this week, when Mick and Linda make him the new Queen Vic bar manager, despite the tensions between them.

Woody and Whitney have been running the show at the pub during the Carters’ holiday to reconnect following the toughest time in their marriage. Given the romantic history between Mick and Whitney – and how much the landlord dislikes Woody

– it seemed unlikely that they could work together. But just as Woody and Whit are preparing to leave for Watford, Linda tells him that he must stick around and help out…

“Does anyone else predict serious trouble?” laughs our Eastenders snoop. “Mick has long been annoyed by Woody, especially since both Linda and Whitney adore him. He’s too cocky by half for Mick’s liking, but there’s no doubt he’s great for the pub.”

When the Carters return from their trip, it’s obvious that they’ve ironed out their differences. After months of secrets and lies, this feels like the old unbreakable Mick and Linda – and they are determined to keep it that way.

For Whitney, having the opportunity to run the Vic alongside her fiancé has been a dream come true, and she feels happier than she’s been in a long time. She’s relieved that the Carters seem to be back on track, and she’s committed to building a life with Woody elsewhere.

However, there’s no doubt that staying in Walford would be Whitney’s preferred choice. She has her best mate Lauren and her niece Lily around her, and she’s always loved working at the Vic. She’s stunned that Linda could forgive her and allow her to continue serving behind the bar – but with Woody keeping mum, Whit has no idea of the real reason that Linda stayed away so long…

husband,” shares our spy. “When they get back from holiday, Linda still hasn’t told Mick. Woody can’t believe it – and as they’re talking about it, Mick walks in and Linda is forced to cover. There’s just no way this choice won’t come back to haunt them – it’s a lie too far, and Mick is going to be deeply hurt.”

So, as Woody begins his new role in possession of a secret that could blow apart the Carter marriage, how long before the problems between the two couples bubble up again?
