Anna confronts Seb’s mum
THE REALITY OF HIS HORRIFYING HOME LIFE IS LAID BARE…
Anna fronts up to Seb’s mum Abi this week – only to learn that she’s a heroin addict as well as a drunk. Having seen the desperate situation that Faye’s boyfriend and his young siblings live in, Anna is determined to help. She’s doing what she can to support Seb, and takes some groceries over for the kids.
But what Anna finds leaves her fearing for their safety…
“Abi is an abusive addict who is making her children’s lives hell,” warns our Corrie source. “Anna can’t believe what she sees when she goes over there, especially since Abi seems to have no shame about her antics. Given how precious her own kids are to her, Anna can’t comprehend that a mother could let her babies suffer like this. It breaks her heart.”
Understandably, Seb is angry and embarrassed by his mum, and the fact that Anna has seen the depths of her depravity. He arrives home as the two women are trading insults, and is shocked that Anna has taken on Abi without backup. He’s appalled by the whole situation, in fact, and warns Anna that she was lucky Abi had only been drinking and wasn’t high on heroin. It’s clear that this volatile situation could explode into violence at any time – Anna has seen the bruises on Seb, and knows he’s in the firing line. However, when she returns to the Street and confides in Tim, she has a big decision to make.
“Tim wants Anna to contact social services and go through the official channels to protect Seb and his siblings,” says our mole. “But Anna knows how traumatic that could be for them. Seb has worked hard to keep the little ones safe and provide for them. Anna can see that it’s all in aid of keeping their family together. She can’t bring herself to tear Seb and his brother and sister apart.”
As Anna does her best to navigate the tricky situation, Faye remains clueless about the new connection between them. She has no idea Anna has become involved with Seb’s family life, or that her boyfriend lives in such squalor. She’s getting suspicious of Seb for sneaking around, though, and when she finds Anna’s purse in his pocket, she kicks off. Convinced that he’s been
stealing from her mum, angry Faye demands answers.
But given how secretive he is about his home life, will Seb be willing to share the grim truth to save his bacon?
