BEN BOWS OUT...

Phil’s son is heading for the exit…

-

Albert Square’s big shakeup continues following the news that Ben Mitchell is the latest character due to be written out of Eastenders.

“We can confirm that Harry Reid will be leaving the role of Ben,” says a show spokesperson. “He has been a great addition to the cast, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Word of the actor’s upcoming departure follows the announcement that Branning sisters Lauren and Abi – played by Jacqueline Jossa and Lorna Fitzgerald – are also heading off, as the show’s creative director John Yorke steers Eastenders in a new direction. But as the girls prepare to bow out in a dramatic storyline this festive season, what does fate have in store for Ben?

“Phil’s son is a magnet for trouble, so it goes without saying that his exit will be unmissable,” teases our Walford mole. “The finer details of his departure are being kept under wraps by bosses, but viewers can expect some big fireworks!”

Recently Ben found himself drawn into the murky and mysterious world of James Willmott-brown when the tycoon’s son, Luke, seduced him. It’s still unclear as to whether Luke has made a play for Ben on the orders of his twisted father – but with Kathy as his mother, Ben must surely be a target for Willmott-brown as her tormentor continues to sow the seeds of his wicked revenge plot.

The drama leading up to Ben’s exit from the Square is expected to play out over the next few months.
