Sitting ducks

It’s all over bar the shouting – that is, the shouting from the audience that the judges need to dump the act occupying chair number four and replace them with the contestant currently hovering anxiously by the microphone. It’s never our favourite stage of the contest – but by the end of tonight’s two-hour bonanza we will know which 24 acts will be jetting off to somewhere (hopefully) exotic, for the far-less-stressful Judges’ Houses round next weekend.
