You might not be aware of the fact that Springwatch presenter Chris Packham is autistic, and perhaps that’s because for a long time he didn’t talk about it. As Chris puts it: “I’ve spent 30 years on the telly trying my best to act normal, when really I’m anything but.”

In this powerful documentary, however, Chris talks frankly about living with Asperger’s syndrome and tries to give us an idea of what it’s like.

While the most moving parts of this film are Chris’ verbal snapshots of his life, there’s a second story as Chris travels to America to find out about radical, but controversial, new treatments for the most extreme autistic traits – and considers the ethics of asking autistic people to change themselves.
