Angry Aidan’s out for revenge
HE TAKES HIS FURY OUT ON JENNY AND TODD…
Furious Aidan goes into battle this week – after discovering that dad Johnny intends to use the factory insurance money to start a new life abroad.
Aidan has been sleeping rough in the Underworld factory building for weeks, yet still believes that the Connors will eventually rebuild their fallen empire. He’s ready to work hard to put things right, but it’s proving to be tougher than he thought – so hearing Johnny’s decision pushes Aidan over the edge. That’s when he starts to attack stepmum Jenny…
“He’s always thought Jenny was a gold-digger,” confirms Shayne Ward, who plays the struggling Connor. “He hears the news that the insurance money has come through from somebody else – then when he confronts Johnny all excited, he finds out that his dad and Jenny intend to move to Spain. He’s not happy, and is certain Jenny is behind this decision. It’s just another knock.”
TAKING ON TODD
Discovering that his dad has no interest in getting Underworld back in business has a profound impact on foundering Aidan. Having already tried to get something started again by working with Alya on bespoke designs, Aidan considers finding a way to finance the factory himself. That’s easier said than done with his current finances, and it doesn’t help that his feud with Adam is distracting him. But things get worse when Aidan finds a new nemesis in Todd!
“Todd works with Adam, so Aidan decides that Todd must have known about what Adam did to the factory and he wants to expose their dodgy dealings,” explains Shayne. “He’s lost everything, and he’s full of emotion. The fact that Adam destroyed the factory and Eva had a hand in it has ruined him, and he’s on the warpath.”
Aidan decides to make life hard for Todd by giving horrified Billy the inside story on the underhand way his boyfriend has been dealing with Rita’s flat sale to Colin.
Aidan wants to expose Adam and Todd’s dodgy dealings…”
It’s enough to give Todd a tough time at home and to motivate him to strike back at Aidan.
AIDAN IN STRIFE
So, when a financial adviser comes to discuss his options with Aidan, Todd is quick to reveal the desperate Connor has been sleeping rough.
“He tries to use it in order to jeopardise Aidan’s chances of getting a loan, and that ramps up their feud!” shares Shayne. “And as Todd takes things a step further, Aidan is now starting to see that he’s playing with fire here…”
It’ll be interesting to see who can get the upper hand in this vicious power struggle – but Shayne informs us that he’s most definitely rooting for his troubled alter ego.
“It’s in Aidan to want to better himself, and to prove to his dad that he can be a businessman and make a success out of it,” he muses. “But it’s also in Aidan to fly off the handle, and when Todd takes their rivalry to the next level, I don’t know what Aidan will do. He can certainly be handy with his fists!”
