The wait is almost over to find out who pushed Emma Barton to her death, with the culprit set to be unmasked as early as next month. However, Hotten police could have another murder to investigate before the year is out…

“We’ll find out who did it before Christmas,” declares Emmerdale series producer Iain Macleod. “But could the killer strike again? If you’ve already committed a murder, you’d go to any lengths to cover it up – and of course, that’s what got Emma into this whole terrible mess in the first place!”

Over the next few weeks, flashbacks to the day that Emma died will continue to put the jigsaw together. Word has it that multiple endings were filmed in order to keep the killer’s identity a secret – though star Gillian Kearney, who played Emma, knows who did the deed! “I don’t think the audience will be disappointed – I think they’ll be intrigued,” she tells us. “What you’re watching at the moment is just the tip of the iceberg…”
