Mrs Tembe has been lighting up our lunchtimes since 2011, so it’s about bloomin’ time that actress Lorna, who plays the much-loved practice manager, was honoured with a prize! And she’s tickled pink to have picked it up…

It’s a bit of a shock. When they told me, I did have to say, ‘What?!’. What’s most incredible is that it’s a reader-voted prize, and that’s amazing. Inside Soap has been so fantastic to us, and this Award is for the entire team. It’s a massive achievement.

She really has grabbed people, it’s amazing. And the age range of viewers who tune into
Doctors nowadays is phenomenal – it’s not just who you’d expect, it’s young people, students, older people… And there was real competition in the Daytime category, too.
