Inside Soap Award…
Congratulations, Lucy! Did you ever expect to be an award winner when you started the job?
It’s such a big jump from starting at Corrie almost three years ago, to winning Best Actress now! I was surprised to even be nominated, and it’s crazy that I’ve actually won. I was in a category with a lot of amazing women, so I feel very proud of myself.
What has been your favourite moment while playing Bethany this year?
It was so much fun getting to smash up the Platt house. I was so excited about being able to go mad and release any pentup anger! It was also when you saw Bethany just completely brainwashed, so it was quite an important moment and one of my favourite scenes.
Have your fellow Platts been supportive through such a tough story?
I was very young with no experience when I started out, but I was put with the best family. Tina [O’brien, aka Sarah] has always been supportive, and I’ve had great guidance from Helen Worth [who plays Gail].
And what have you made of your first Inside Soap party?
Red carpet events can be daunting as I’ve not been to loads of them, but it’s nice to come together as a cast and celebrate. Tina is always really fun on a night out, and she’s my partner in crime tonight!

It was a hard category with a lot of choice, so thank you so much – I feel honoured!
