BEN AND LAUREN ENTER VERY DANGEROUS TERRITORY…
The terrible truth about Willmott-brown’s scam is close to being unearthed by Lauren and Ben this week, as they question Weyland & Co’s business dealings.
Willmott-brown is using son Luke to manipulate smitten Ben and his best mate Jay, but the boys are far smarter than he gives them credit for. It doesn’t help that Luke’s not as careful as he could be, and makes the big mistake of leaving his wallet at Ben’s flat. Looking through it to find out if it’s Luke’s property, Ben comes across something that worries him. Has Luke accidentally blown the scheme apart?
“Ben is smart, and his instincts tell him something is wrong here, but he has such strong feelings for Luke that he doesn’t want to believe it,” sighs our Eastenders insider. “He knows Luke was in prison for fraud – and while he considers that to be small-fry crime, it means that when he sees something suspicious in Luke’s wallet, he can’t ignore it. The problem is that asking Luke is a risky step to take.”
Meanwhile, Lauren has an epiphany about what is actually going on at Weyland & Co after she returns to work. Determined to put the past behind her, Lauren tries to get back to business, but can’t ignore her attraction to boss Josh. He feels the same, and it’s not long before the passionate pair kiss. Lauren soon regrets her hasty actions – though her romantic problems pale into insignificance when Jay quizzes Lauren about what’s going on in the company.
Worried by what Jay insinuates, Lauren confronts Josh and asks him about the projects they are working on. Josh is confused and goes to Luke, intent on getting the full story. It should be a simple thing, but Luke shuts down Josh immediately – a reaction that gets Lauren thinking. With Josh drawing a blank, she decides to dig deeper herself.

herself into,” warns our spy. “This family is poison, and there are people involved with them who would think nothing of attacking her. What she knows so far should be giving Lauren pause for thought, and her dad Max’s shady behaviour ought to be ringing alarm bells as well. However, given that she has a young son to worry about and no one to back her up, Lauren needs to tread carefully.”
Indeed, Lauren may live to regret her inquisitive nature when she goes on to make a surprise discovery at the office that deeply alarms her. Will she keep what she’s learned to herself – or face the possible consequences of revealing the secret she’s uncovered?
