NICK BLOOD AND FAYE MARSAY STAR IN A REVENGE DRAMA…
On the morning of his stag do, Nathan Bowyar is kidnapped and wakes up in an unfamiliar location. He’s soon joined by Mani Yalla, and neither of them have any idea why they’re there. But the person who has orchestrated the plan does: 27-year-old Sarah Ivy, whose life was ruined by an event 10 years ago that involved Nathan and Mani, and who has been planning her revenge for some time…
“The themes that we deal with are really prominent in our culture right now, so there’s lots to draw from,” explains Faye Marsay, who plays Sarah. “I think now people are taking control back for things that they lost, through events that happened to them – but I think for Sarah, it’s a grey area. The event itself was horrendous, but it went on to impact so many parts of her life – her family, her work and friends. I think that’s what she’s dealing with the most, and wants revenge for.”
As Sarah begins to explain to the two men who she is, the horrifying realisation of their shared past dawns on them. But will Nathan and Mani be willing to accept responsibility for their actions all those years ago?
“There is no easy answer,” muses Nick Blood, who plays Nathan. “Without giving too much away, no one is completely innocent, and nobody is wholly guilty, necessarily – it’s hard to work out how much responsibility each person has. And it explores the general public’s participation – how we are all complicit, to a certain degree…”
