“I was left black and blue!”
While his lips are sealed regarding the consequences of Billy and Peter’s cliff-top clash, Daniel Brocklebank – who plays Billy – admits the drama took its toll…
What was it like filming such dramatic scenes in the boot of a car?
I’ve never been bundled in a car boot before, and at the time it was surprisingly comfortable! The scenes were very physical, though, and I came out of the boot black and blue – but it was great to film. Me and Chris Gascoyne [Peter] had such a laugh.
Did you have a stuntman?
We did, but we didn’t use him as I shot everything myself. The stunt guy showed me what to do – he did a bit of a demo. I knew I wasn’t going to fall, so I felt safe.
How do you feel about Billy vs the Barlows?
The Barlows are Coronation Street, aren’t they? So to be involved not only in the history of the show, but in the history of that particular family, is fantastic. I was slightly nervous before the truth of Billy and Susan came out, though!
While Billy’s life is on the line this Christmas, will you be enjoying a more relaxing time?
Well, it’s definitely not a good Christmas for Billy, but I’m going to spend mine with my other half and his family – and it’s my birthday three days before. I always get joint Christmas and birthday presents, though… which is a bit rubbish, isn’t it?
