Moira confesses all to Ross

SHE TELLS ROSS AND PETE WHAT HAPPENED TO EMMA…

- Laura Heffernan

The boys leave Moira to it as they deliberate on what they know”

Moira’s guilt over Emma’s death finally gets the better of her this week, as she admits to stunned Pete and Ross that she killed their mother!

Moira’s secret is tearing her apart, and she’s on the verge of breaking down now that Adam has vanished without a trace. With her son having taken the rap for her crime and then escaped from custody, Moira is sick with worry at not knowing where he is. However, after the police inform her that they’ve found a body they suspect could be Adam’s, Moira is left with the grisly task of identifying the corpse. And her guilt is off the scale when Ross is the one who volunteers to help her through the process…

“It’s really traumatic,” says actress Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira. “The police come round with photographs of the dead body, and Ross is standing by Moira’s side and really helping her through it. He goes to make the ID, but Moira says she has to do it. She looks – and it’s not Adam! Then she considers Ross and realises how nice he’s been to her.”

Moira is overcome with relief at learning her son is still alive, and compassionate Ross continues to support her. However, once the police have left the farm, Ross’ kindness proves too much for her to bear. Moira realises she can no longer live with the guilt of what she’s done… and tells Ross that she’s the one who pushed Emma to her death.

Given that Ross is struggling with his own guilt – having escorted his mum to the viaduct where she was killed – he is full of rage at learning Moira is the real killer. So goodnatured Pete doesn’t know what to think when he walks in on his brother pinning their Auntie Moira up against a wall!

“It’s a shock, but then Pete asks questions and finds out that Moira is the one who killed their mother,” reveals actor Anthony Quinlan (Pete), who takes up the story. “Obviously he’s livid, though it’s mostly confusion. He and Ross have felt so guilty over the past few months, so it’s a lot to take in.

“Both boys leave Moira to it while they deliberate on her future,” continues the star.

“It’s in their hands, so to speak. Everyone has been through a massive ordeal, including Moira herself. Pete and Ross want to do something, but I think they need to sit back and see how everyone was actually affected, and weigh

everything up properly. Whether they’ll do that or not is a different story!”

With the true facts of Emma’s death now at Ross and Pete’s disposal, will the lads decide to go to the police with their findings?
