Kim is suspicious of her hubby
AS KIM LEARNS VINCENT’S IN BOTHER, TAMEKA EMPSON INSISTS HER ALTER EGO WILL FIGHT BACK…
If Kim has to learn for herself what Vincent’s up to, she will not be happy!” Tameka Empson is about to talk us through the state of her no-nonsense character’s marriage, as Kim’s husband Vincent keeps his issues with gangster Aidan to himself. But surely he knows that Aidan is a walk in the park compared with his formidable missus? Tameka tells us exactly what Vincent’s in for should he fail to come clean…
“If Vincent knows Kim, then he knows that he better tell her before she works it out for herself,” insists the star. “If not, with the levels of what could possibly happen to them, and how their life is going to change for the worse, I don’t think she’ll be forgiving him any time soon. Vincent is doing what he’s doing for the good of the family, he’s not being malicious. But it all depends on how Kim finds out!”
What Vincent has been keeping secret is that he’s being blackmailed by Aidan over the death of his brother, who died by suicide in prison after Vincent grassed him up to the police. He’s having to sell The Albert to stump up the cash Aidan is demanding, but his sneaking around has aroused Kim’s suspicions. And typically, she’s putting two and two together – which can only lead to disaster. “She knows something is up, and thinks he’s having an affair,” sighs Tameka. “Vincent has always been attentive to Kim’s needs, but after her miscarriage, she’s trying to get pregnant again – and he’s not as enthusiastic as he was before. And because he’s acting shiftily, it gives Kim reason to doubt herself. He’s not there when she needs him, and it unnerves her. Kim thinks he might be playing her.” Of course, we can’t blame Vincent for not being up front about the bother he’s in. Aidan’s expensive demands could well bankrupt the successful businessman – and with Kim having taken to a life of luxury like a duck to water, we wouldn’t expect her to embrace the prospect of austerity! But Tameka reckons Kim might yet surprise us.
“Kim is the sort of woman, like Hyacinth Bucket, where it’s all about keeping up appearances,” shares the 40-year-old. “Smiling on the outside
while inside it’s turmoil. I can see her scratching Vincent’s eyes out over this, but I can also see her digging deep as Kim is a survivor.
“She’s also a good mum, and she has a great guy who allows her to be her. So if the tables are going to be turned, and Kim goes from living the life of Riley to counting the pennies, then I think she will try to keep the family together.”
However, as her hubby avoids admitting the whole truth, Kim turns to father figure Patrick for advice. As always, Patrick has wise words aplenty – but don’t forget that Kim’s no pushover, and her own unique brand of girl power might turn out to be exactly what stressed-out Vincent needs.
“Kim and Vincent really do love each other, and I hope that their marriage could survive this,” claims Tameka. “She knows that Patrick will tell her the truth, but Kim loves and gives deeply, and she’s also quite savvy. So I’m hoping that she’s got a lovely bank account somewhere [laughs]. Or at the very least, she’ll find a way to keep the house – it’s her palace!”
