Being attacked by killer Ryan was by far the scariest moment of Tegan’s life – but will star Jess be just as terrified when she faces our readers’ probing questions?
“Who is your best friend among the cast at Hollyoaks?”
Daisy Wood-davis, who plays Kim. We’ve just got back from a holiday together – we went to Gran Canaria for a bit of winter sun, and it was really fun. When we were doing the ‘Gloved Hand Killer’ storyline we were together all the time on screen, but we’ve not done much stuff lately.
We still see each other
outside of work pretty much every day, though.
“What do you make of Tegan’s style, and is it like
your own?”
There are some outfits of Tegan’s that I wouldn’t wear, but I do have a lot of input – she’s quite out there, and likes to try different things. I have been known to walk into work in a shirt, then go to my costume rail and find the same shirt on there! That was the point when I realised I need some new clothes. But I’ll pretty much wear anything as long as I feel comfortable.
“Has Tegan forgotten about her daughter Rose? We never see her…”
I think she’s in a cupboard! We actually have a new girl playing Rose, so I reckon there will be upcoming storylines with her, and we will revisit the whole baby-swap thing with Diane. So don’t worry, we will be seeing a lot more of Rose! Which is great as I really miss working with her.
“Can you tell us a secret about Kirsty-leigh Porter, who plays Leela?”
We call each other ‘sister’, as we’ve spent so much time together playing sisters on
Hollyoaks – and I’m an only child as well, so I do see her as a sibling. But she’s a bit naughty – when we both walk on to set, the directors are like, “Oh
God, here they are”!
They know there will be mischief with us two, and we like to team up against Kieron Richardson [aka Ste]!
“What is it like snogging Duncan from Blue?”
“Which ex-cast mate do you miss most?”
Ha ha! Obviously my 15-year-old self is like, ‘What?!’. I can’t get my head around it. But he’s a great kisser, and he’s fulfilling one of my teenage dreams! We’ve done so much stuff together recently, and we’ve actually become really good friends. So I definitely don’t mind coming into work and kissing him – it’s not the worst thing in the world!
“Everyone at Hollyoaks says that you throw the best parties! So what are your top tips for hosting the perfect soiree?”
Firstly, make sure you have enough food and wine to feed an army. The more your guests drink, the more they think they’re having a good time. Also I’ve just created a games tower so people have something to play. Everyone’s always round at mine having dinner so I think people feel comfortable here anyway, and my house is full of odd bits and bobs that are quite entertaining. There’s basically just no rules at my house!
“Which of your ex-cast mates do you miss the most?”
I really miss Fab [Santino], who played Ziggy Roscoe, as we spent so much time together. In the months leading up to when he was going, we’d get to certain scenes and I’d just cry! I also miss Cam Moore [who played Cameron Campbell] – me, Cam, Kirsty-leigh and Kieron were a bit of a team on set.
“What job do you think you’d be doing if you weren’t an actress?”
In between acting jobs I used to work as a nanny, and I worked in special needs schools. I think that would be an avenue I would go down. My mum is a special needs teacher as well, so I’ve always been interested in that.
“Do you think that you would make a good nurse in real life?”
Absolutely not! I have a phobia about ears. Also I’m never ill, so I don’t have much sympathy for other people when they have colds or whatever. Being

“I love seeing pictures of your little dog Bob on Instagram. What’s the naughtiest thing he’s ever done?”
I was looking after my mum and dad’s cat over the summer when they went on holiday – and I had to give the cat a separate room upstairs because Bob just kept eating Reggie the cat’s poo!
“What are you most looking forward to this year?”
My best friend is getting married and I’m maid of honour for her, so I’m looking forward to that. Also one of the make-up girls from Hollyoaks is getting married in Spain, and I’m going over there for that. Then I have the hen dos too, so I’m really excited for all of it.
