Bob doesn’t rest on his Laurel

AS BOB MAKES HIS CHOICE, WHERE DOES IT LEAVE BRENDA?

Bob wants to see if there’s anything there to hang around for!”

It looks as if poor Brenda is heading for even more heartbreak this week, as her fiancé Bob declares his love for his secret fling Laurel!

The two-timing rat had resolved to forget their naughty night ever happened, before pledging his commitment to Brenda and asking her to marry him again. However, as his betrayal is uncovered by another villager this week, it forces Bob to realise which woman he wants to be with…

“Bob is hedging his bets and keeping his options open!” despairs actor Tony Audenshaw, who plays him. “He thinks that Laurel has feelings for him, but he doesn’t know how deep they run.

So he says that he wants her just to see if there is anything there to hang around for!”

The drama unfolds when suspicious Harriet cottons on to the closeness between Bob and Laurel, and challenges her mate on it. After some prodding, the truth comes tumbling out as Laurel buckles under the weight of her sordid secret – and she even goes so far as to admit that she still has feelings for Bob.

“Initially, Bob is completely unaware Laurel has blabbed, as they’d agreed not to tell anyone,” shares Tony. “If word gets out, World War III would ensue, and everything would be terrible! So when Laurel later comes to him and confesses that she’s told Harriet, he thinks the cat is out of the bag.

“What’s interesting, though, is that Harriet tells Bob that he needs to make a decision,” continues the actor. “It’s pressure from her that causes him to have a bit of a wobble and a breakdown.”

After Harriet encourages Bob to come clean to Brenda about the identity of his mystery woman, Bob freaks out and disappears from the village. Meanwhile, Brenda is beside herself with worry as she reaches the conclusion that her man has walked out on her for good.

“Bob needs to get away from Emmerdale, so he goes to stay in a country pub somewhere in the north of England,” explains Tony. “He thought that he could do what Harriet suggests and tell Brenda everything, but ultimately it would be terrible
