Terrified Vincent abandons his family!

HIS FEAR OF AIDAN CAUSES HIM TO THINK THE UNTHINKABLE…

- Kate White

Aidan will see to it that Vincent’s life in Walford is over…”

Desperate Vincent is preparing to walk out on wife Kim and daughter Pearl this week, terrified Aidan will kill him if he doesn’t pay up.

He’s been given a deadline to sell The Albert and hand over the cash to Aidan, to atone for Vincent’s part in the death of his brother. The issue is that Vincent’s buyer pulls out at the last minute, and it looks as if he can’t settle up with the violent criminal. Fearing for his life, Vincent decides the time is right to leg it – without Kim or their child.

“Vincent doesn’t think of this as being selfish – he believes Kim and Pearl are in danger if he stays,” says our Square snitch. “Aidan doesn’t do second chances, and Vincent has seen that he’s prepared to go to scary lengths to punish people who cross him. Vincent thinks he’s living on borrowed time. That’s why he decides to write a note and prepares to leave.”

Things go from bad to worse for the bar owner when the sale falls through, and then he can’t find Kim’s engagement ring to pawn. The expensive jewel could have been his key to quickly getting some cash, enough to show Aidan he’s serious. While he’s scrabbling around for money, poor Kim is trying to give their little girl a birthday to remember. It’s not possible for her to throw the lavish dos Pearl is used to, so she and Vincent take her to see children’s entertainer Magic Marv instead. The

Hubbards try to make the best of it, but the trip makes Vincent feel even more wretched about losing everything – so he insists they will make it up to Pearl with a proper party the next day.

But Vincent’s plans come to nothing when Aidan swoops in and warns him that time is ticking, and then Kim finds out that he’s fallen behind on their mortgage repayments. The reality of their declining wealth is becoming clear, and even Donna takes her brother aside to find out what’s up. Vincent’s only hope is The Albert, and when it looks as if the sale can’t happen, he feels that there’s no choice but to run.

“His life in Walford is over, Aidan will see to that,” sighs our gossip. “He has to stay one step ahead now and try to survive. He can’t take Kim and Pearl on the run with him, but Vincent reasons they have family who’ll take care of them and so writes a letter to say goodbye. However, when he’s ready to leave, a call comes in that changes everything!”

It turns out Vincent can sell the bar after all. Now Kim never has to know what he planned to do – unless Vincent has left evidence behind…
