Audrey hears from late hubby Alf?
AUDREY IS STUNNED TO HEAR FROM HER LATE, GREAT HUSBAND…
Audrey is left reeling this week, after she meets a lady claiming to have a message from her husband Alf – who passed away in 1999!
Audrey can’t believe it when Rosemary, one of her salon clients, announces that she’s clairvoyant and has been communicating with Alf in recent weeks. Audrey is stunned as Rosemary explains that she’s been receiving messages from the afterlife, and the cobbles stalwart feels deeply emotional at having this connection with the husband she desperately misses. But is Audrey right to trust her customer?
“Rosemary’s declaration is music to Audrey’s ears – she has never stopped loving her ‘Alfie’,” says our Corrie source. “Rosemary is such a sweet, lovely woman that Audrey just trusts what she says. She can’t wait to inform her family of this miraculous event.”
After Audrey tells Gail and Maria about what’s happened, they are incredulous – but not in the way she is. Instead of being delighted for Audrey, they are quick to tell her that Rosemary is a con artist and the whole thing is a sham. But Audrey won’t hear it – she believes Rosemary may have something vital to communicate, and books herself in for an appointment to find out more.
Rosemary is a warm, eccentric woman, and she captivates Audrey with her tales of the spirit world and her connection to those who have passed away. However, when the time comes for her to relay Alf’s messages, Rosemary has another bombshell to deliver – there’s someone waiting to speak to Gail as well.
Audrey returns to Weatherfield to tell Gail that one of her late husbands wants to deliver a message from beyond the grave. Of course, many people would know who was hoping to communicate with them – but Gail is spoilt for choice!
“It could be her first hubby, Brian Tilsley, who was stabbed to death, or her serial killer third spouse Richard ‘Tricky Dicky’ Hillman,” offers our spy. “Then there’s Joe Mcintyre, Gail’s fourth husband, who drowned in an insurance scam, and poor Michael Rodwell, the most recent man to leave Gail widowed. Obviously,
Gail would rather hear from some more than others – but Rosemary certainly has her attention.”
Although she’s dismissed Audrey’s interest in Rosemary as nonsense, it feels different to Gail when the message is coming to her. Meanwhile,
“Audrey can’t wait to tell her family of this miracle”
Audrey is desperate to find out which of her daughter’s exes wants a word, and tries to convince sceptical Gail to give Rosemary a chance.
Will Gail give in and hear what Rosemary has to say, or will she decide to let the past stay buried?
