WANTED man!

Home and Away’s Jake Ryan tells us why he’s on Robbo’s side…

- Sarah Ellis

Fugitive Robbo is currently public enemy number one in Summer Bay – yet he risks everything in order to return there this week! We caught up with actor Jake Ryan to find out about his character’s state of mind right now…

Does Robbo regret leaving Kat alone on the night she died?

Leaving Kat in the car is the hardest thing Robbo has ever done. He was willing to stay and be arrested – but it was Kat’s promise that she’d be fine, and that she would come and find him, that sent him off. It’s a decision he will regret forever.

It must be hard for Robbo to face the future without Kat…

At this point, it seems as if there’s no coming back for Robbo. He has all but given up on everything – until he gets help from the most unlikely of allies. It’s someone who you will soon learn Robbo owes his life and future too…

Intriguing! Do you find yourself having sympathy for Robbo at all?

I’ve had sympathy for Robbo the whole time. I think it’s important when you play a character, good or bad, to have sympathy and look at the world through their eyes. Everyone who makes a decision in life believes it’s the right decision at that time, even though I might not make the same decision myself.

How did the big crash episode go down with fans in Australia?

It was really well received. Everyone did an amazing job, in front of and behind the camera, and I think that rallying of the teams shows on screen. It was heartbreaking and memorable. And what’s happened since the finale has also been well received – so you guys in the UK have lots of great stuff coming up!
