HOLLYOAKS 2 HOLLYWOOD
Linda Gray brought a bit of Tinseltown to Chester as Marnie’s mum Tabby – and now former Hollyoaks star Rachel Shenton
(Anne ‘Mitzeee’ Minniver) has returned the favour! Rachel took home the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film for The Silent Child, which she made with fiancé Chris
Overton. The story follows a four-year old deaf child, and is based on Rachel’s experience of growing up with a hearing-impaired parent. The actress took to the podium in front of the assembled glitterati and proudly signed along with her speech, saying: “Deafness is a silent disability. It is not life-threatening and you cannot see it, so I want to say the biggest of thank yous to the Academy for allowing us to put this in front of a mainstream audience.” Huge congrats, guys!
