Ric’s freedom hangs in the balance this week, as he faces court accused of medical manslaughter.
Via a series of flashbacks, we’re reminded of the fateful day in October when patient Elaine Warren was admitted to AAU, complaining of pain and numbness in her right leg. While caring for Elaine, Ric was forced to leave instructions with his colleagues after an urgent phone call from Serena took him away from the wards to help Jason and Lola – and it’s through Ric’s account that we finally realise why he had no choice but to leave the hospital. Meanwhile, nurses Donna and Amira each give the court their versions of events, and we learn why Elaine’s treatment was compromised.
With the truth finally out, a surprise witness arrives to fight Ric’s corner. But what will be the jury’s verdict?
