As the Street reels from the news that Phelan was behind four deaths, poor Eileen is under fire from those who think she helped hide the truth about her husband’s killing spree. It’s just dirty looks and snide comments at first, but the situation takes a sinister turn when it becomes clear someone is out to get her…
“The poor woman is practically a prisoner in her own home as she hides from the outside world, ashamed that Phelan was able to get away with murder right under her nose,” shares our Corrie source. “The last thing she needs after her ordeal at the lighthouse is to feel threatened again – yet Eileen’s nightmare is only just beginning.”
The news that the police won’t be pursuing her as an accessory to Phelan’s crimes has come as a massive relief, but also of little consolation when Eileen knows so many lives have been destroyed.
Speaking of her horrid hubby, Eileen thinks she is responsible for Phelan’s demise after sending him tumbling into the sea. So as she hibernates at home, clearly depressed, the likes of Liz and Nicola begin to worry that she’s sinking into despair rather than trying to rebuild her life.
“Nicola’s views obviously mean a lot to Eileen, who pleads her innocence when Nicola calls round to see her,” reveals our mole. “As Eileen insists that she had no idea what Phelan was capable of,
