A SHOCK DEATH DEVASTATES THE FAMILY – AND EXPOSES A SHOCKING SECRET…
Devastating news reaches the Spencer clan this week – as Daz reveals that Ali has died suddenly.
It’s been a while since Dan’s ex-wife left Emmerdale to start a new life in Liverpool following the death of her wife Ruby, but she’s kept in touch because of children Sean and Amelia. So after shaken Daz turns up and reveals that Ali has gone, it’s a horrible shock to everyone – not least her heartbroken daughter Amelia…
“It’s the sort of news that nobody wants to have to break,” shares our Dales spy. “This is the second tragedy to hit the family – it’s only a couple of years since Ruby was killed in the helicopter crash. Having to tell Amelia that her mum is dead is awful, and she’s shattered.”
When Dan arrives home, he’s horrified to see his daughter in a terrible state. Tearful Amelia explains that Uncle Daz says her mum has died, and Dan is shaken to realise they’ve lost Ali. Filled with pain and grief, Dan can’t stop his anger rising at Daz for telling Amelia without waiting for him to return. So as Dan agrees to plan the funeral for Ali, he’s fuming at his brother’s irresponsibility.
The atmosphere continues to be terrible as the two struggle to get along. With all the stress and heartache at home, Daz heads to the Woolie to drown his sorrows, then begins to pour his heart out to Kerry – but she’s going to wish he hadn’t!
“Daz is nursing a massive secret that could destroy the Spencers forever,” reveals our informant. “He blurts it out drunkenly to Kerry, and she’s rocked to her foundations. Worse still, she knows that he’s told her something that Dan doesn’t know, so now she’s hiding it from him too. Keeping Daz’s secret could protect the rest of the family, but if they discover it and find out that Kerry knew, it could ruin everything.”
In the midst of their grief, Dan and Amelia have no idea that Daz is sitting on a bombshell that would devastate them all. Now Kerry has to decide if she can keep his secret, or whether it’s time to tell everybody the truth…
