The BIG DEBATE!

We knew that Rana’s parents didn’t approve of her romance with Kate, but we never dreamed they would try to kidnap her and take her to Pakistan! Luckily, Kate was on the case…

-

While the way Rana’s been treated by her parents is shocking, it’s sadly a reality many people still face if they choose to come out. Not everyone is as understanding as Kate’s family are, so well done to Corrie for showing such a realistic portrayal of how it can be. Let’s hope it will help any viewers who are in similar situations to realise that they’re not alone.

| Ellie I seriously can’t believe the gall of Rana’s parents! How anyone can behave like that in this day and age is beyond me. If they really loved their daughter, they would want her to be happy – not try to send her on a one-way trip to the other side of the world! It’s disgusting behaviour.

| Debs, Sutton I was in tears watching the scenes where Rana’s mum tried to bundle her into that taxi and take her away. It’s awful to think a mother could treat their child like that, and the look of pure panic on Rana’s face when she realised what was happening broke my heart. Bhavna Limbachia was brilliant throughout.

But most of you are just glad that Rana and Kate can be together now…

Rana and Kate are so brilliant together, so I’m really happy Kate managed to rescue Rana from her parents. I hope this means they can finally have a romance free of dramas – it’s so rare to see a same-sex couple happy in soap.

| Scarlett, London

It’s so rare to see any couple happy in soapland!
