Kim: abandoned and alone
BUT WILL SHE DISCOVER PHIL’S PART IN VINCENT’S DISAPPEARANCE?
Kim remains frantic this week, desperate for news about her husband Vincent.
She’s not laid eyes on her other half since the fateful night he was driven off at high speed by a double-crossing detective – seemingly on Phil’s orders – and left staring down the barrel of a gun.
So when Phil hands Kim a pile of cash this week, she’s understandably suspicious. But as she wonders whether Phil might know where Vincent is, will she end up discovering the awful truth?
“The night Vincent was kidnapped we witnessed Phil make a call, leaving orders to scare him – but no worse,” our Walford spy reminds us. “However, while shocked viewers have been left to assume the worst was done and Vincent met a grisly end, Kim is convinced he’s walked out on her – and the poor woman is at her wits’ end!”
The last time that Kim saw Vincent, she assured him that whatever trouble he was in, they’d stick together and get through it. Based on this emotional pledge, Vincent no longer intended to grass up Phil and gangster Aidan, and wanted to rebuild his shattered life. But he never returned from delivering that message, so when Kim discovered a note from him suggesting that he was going to leave her, she believed herself abandoned…
“What Kim doesn’t realise is that Vincent wrote that note ages ago – not long after he lost The Albert – and thought he’d discarded it,” explains our sneak. “But ironically, it almost makes sense to Kim
Phil wasn’t close to Vincent – so why is he so keen to help her out?”
at this point. Prior to vanishing, Vincent had admitted just how dire his predicament was – so it seems credible that he was planning to leave his wife.”
While Kim and her daughter Pearl are left to face a grim future without Vincent, the mum is determined to not let down her little girl. And when Phil insists on Kim taking his money, claiming that it’s payment for Vincent’s car – which he actually stole as recompense after Keanu secretly repaired it – it seems he’s been touched by Kim’s plight. But will his uncharacteristic generosity prompt her to point the finger?
“Kim might be desperate, yet she’s still no fool,” says our insider. “She knows Phil and Vincent were far from close
– so why’s Phil so keen to help her out? She’s also aware Vincent’s no stranger to the dark side, and that Phil’s rarely far from trouble. She starts to wonder what’s going on…”
