Belle begins to hear voices again

OVERWHELMED BY THE VOICES IN HER HEAD, SHE RUNS RIOT…

- Tom Spilsbury

Troubled Belle sinks back into the depths of despair this week, having started to hear voices in her head again.

The poor girl has previously suffered with psychiatric issues, after being responsible for the death of her friend Gemma Andrews. And although she’s been in recovery for a while now, it soon becomes clear she’s suffering once more…

“Belle is terrified – the voices in her head are back,” sighs our Emmerdale source. “At first she tried to shut them out, as she doesn’t want anyone to realise anything’s wrong – but her torment becomes totally unbearable. The more she tries to resist, the stronger the voices seem to get, and she’s in danger of being completely overwhelmed unless she can get the help she needs.”

The perilous situation gets more hazardous when Belle believes that the voices are instructing her to destroy all the alcohol in her brewery barn. As the voices get louder and more insistent, she is eventually tipped over the edge, and begins a frenzied attack – smashing up bottles and knocking over all the barn’s equipment.

“Belle just can’t think for herself any more,” explains our spy. “Unable to bear the mental agony, she submits to what the voices seem to want her to do – but this could just be the start. Who knows what they will ask her to do next?”

Of course, Belle’s actions don’t go unnoticed for long. When Priya finds the carnage Belle has caused in the barn, she stresses to Lachlan that they need to do something before Belle endangers others. Lachlan panics when he hears that Belle’s problems have returned – but can he track her down before it’s too late?
