SHINING SONS
I’m really looking forward to seeing the fireworks between Ali and Ryan in Corrie now that they’re both in town for Michelle’s wedding. I thought that I would be Team
Ali all the way, but I actually found myself warming to Ryan when he arrived! | Jim Michelle really doesn’t look old enough to be mum to either of them, does she? It was heartbreaking to see Keegan and Shakil being senselessly stabbed. Similar crimes are happening in London practically every week, so the episodes have been uncomfortable to watch. However, it is good to raise awareness of such tragedies, and the impact these crimes have all round. The aftermath scenes will be so emotional – I hope the killer is caught.
| Manisa I’m so upset they killed off Shakil – he was such a great character. But I look forward to seeing his older brother Darius and dad Umar finally coming to the Square. It will cause more stress for Carmel and Kush, no doubt.
| Darren, Stoke-on-trent Well done to Eastenders star Zack Morris – his portrayal of stabbed Keegan had me crying my eyes out, especially when he was desperately trying to tell Mick about Shaki. The fact that the two boys were attacked in such a brutal way was bad enough, but Shaki may have been saved if he’d been found sooner.
| Kylie, London
But not everyone was full of praise for these episodes…
While it was important for Eastenders to tackle the subject of knife crime, I think it was silly to have the Hayley plot running alongside it. The drama was all on the Square
– I don’t care about some wannabe Slater and a random girl we don’t even know on the tube. There should have been more focus on Shakil.

How will poor Carmel cope without her beloved Shaki?
