Eileen says goodbye to Weatherfield!

AFTER HER NIGHTMARE WITH PHELAN, EILEEN DECIDES TO MOVE AWAY WITH NICOLA…

- Tom Spilsbury

Eileen’s friends throw her a farewell party this week, as she makes up her mind to leave Coronation Street.

It’s been a nightmare couple of months for Eileen, since she discovered the true extent of her serial-killer husband Pat Phelan’s crimes, and came close to becoming one of his many victims. So when she’s offered the chance of a fresh start, Eileen is sorely tempted – even if it means leaving Weatherfield altogether.

“It’s Pat’s daughter, Nicola, who offers Eileen the chance to rebuild her life,” reveals our Corrie insider. “Nicola can’t forgive Gary for stupidly bringing Phelan back into their lives and endangering everyone, so she confides in Eileen that she’s planning to move away to Bristol. Understandably, Eileen is still in shock after her ordeal, and can’t believe that it’s over. Sensing her stepmum’s pain, Nicola suggests that she comes with her – as getting away is just what she needs. But initially, Eileen isn’t sure if it’s the right thing to do…”

While Eileen ponders Nicola’s offer, she meets with Fiz for a drink, and they have a heartto-heart about their respective murderous husbands.

“If there’s anyone who can empathise with how Eileen is feeling right now, it’s Fiz,” sighs our spy. “Her husband John Stape was almost as much of a lunatic as Phelan turned out to be – so she understands why Eileen feels so mixed up! Eileen is torn about leaving behind all her friends – but after draining a bottle of wine with Fiz, she comes to a decision. She’s going to accept Nicola’s proposal and move to Bristol!”

However, there are tensions between Nicola and Gary as she informs him of her plan. He’s devastated after she tells him that she’s moving south – and she’s taking their little boy Zack with her.

answer for his crimes – but look at all the pain and misery it’s caused!” exclaims our snitch. “He realises that he screwed up – yet the thought of losing Zack is too difficult. However, Nicola reassures him that he’s welcome to come to Bristol to visit them whenever he wants.”

As Steve and Tim throw a farewell party at the cab office, Eileen tells Seb that he’ll need somewhere else to live, as she’s planning on renting out her house when she departs. But she relents after she realises that Seb has nowhere else to go, telling him he can stay at No 11 until she can find a full-time tenant.

However, is Eileen really leaving for good, or will she be back on the cobbles sooner than she thinks?
